LETTERS
From the President: Feb 19, 2011
Dear Sisters:
March is the Stenberg concert: Sunday, March 6, at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church in Sarasota, near the airport. We've arranged for Musica Sacra Cantorum to present the second part of the program. One of our new members, flautist Amanda Lyon, and the Daige-Roseboom Trio, which performed so splendidly last year, will present the first half of the concert. It should be a memorable program, so advertise the event and sell your tickets! Remember, this is our benefit concert to help subsidize area musical organizations. If you've not yet received your tickets, pick them up at the next meeting or contact Sue Byerly at [email protected].
There is news from National that will be posted as per the notice given to Francesca. Roses to all, Alice

From the Editor’s Desk:
I hope you were present at the last meeting. What a great presentation Halide made, she gave us the background notes on all of her pieces, and Mary Webb, Amand Lyons, and Estelle Schultz did a fabulous job performing them. Carole and I thoroughly enjoyed our "cat fight", what else would two sopranos do? Our thanks to Halide for writing such a fun piece for us! I hope to get the video of it posted on this site soon. Also, I have taken the 'poster' information that Alice sent out and created a poster page on this site. Please look up top and pull down the "more" menu, scroll down to the segment that says Pat Stenberg Memorial Poster, you should have no trouble printing it from there. I know a few people called to say that they could not open the one that Alice sent. If you have trouble opening the document in Microsoft Word Processor then you need to 'save' it before you 'open' it. Often that will work and that is exactly how I was able to open and transfer it to the web page.
(Repost) Please look at the new contact page also, there will be a form that you can enter your name and email address. There is also a section for comments, please use that to send me home address changes that I can forward to Susan Byerly, and ideas that you might have for next years' programs, I can forward those to Carole. You may also want to use the comments section to give me information that you would like to share on this webpage.
Love and Roses, Francesca Veglia
P.S. It is that time of year when we are looking for fresh blood. No it isn't a blood drive or a teenage vampire show! However, if you would like to serve your SAI chapter, think of contacting an officer and get your name into the nominating commitee. I am looking for a someone else who is not planning on moving in the next year or so to take over this position. I could train you for then next few months, and then you could take it over next year. Think about it!

I am looking for members to sign up for next year's progam's at the April meeting. Please have some ideas for next years program that we can discuss and assign. Francesca thought that we could have a training session entitled "Navigating the SAI Website", that should cover Fraternity Education. She can demonstrate how to post our pictures and videos, as well as discuss how to use the menu forms to sign up for events and programs. I thought there was a great turnout at Estelles house for Halides music program, we had a lot of fun presenting Halide's cat duet "Eerht Dnilb Ecim" (Three Blind Mice spelled backwards). Congratulations to those members who got the "You Are My Sunshine" theme in her Mystery song. It was nice to see a new face at our meeting from Appleton Wisconsin, we hope to see her more often.
Yours in music, Carole Cornman VP Programming
