Dear Sisters
--
greetings a bit late for the new year. I know we’ve all been so involved, so busy, that time creeps up and sweeps us away. But,
let me get my head on.
Your Board met on Jan. 8 at Carole Fetterman’s home. The first item on the agenda was the Stenberg Concert on Sunday, Mar. 25 at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church in Sarasota -- really bordering the two cities. Carole has arranged an amazing program for us and for the community: the Sarasota Young Vpices and the Trio Viola with Barbara Jensen’s daughter, Laura.
Since the age for the Young Voices ranges from 6 on up, we will admit chaperones free of charge and sell tickets to family members at $5. Which brings to mind: ticket sales!
Remember, we are responsible for the tickets we received @ $8 apiece. If you can sell them for $10, so much the better for our fund-raising project for our area music organizations. Tickets sell for $12 at the door. Extra tickets will be available from Sue Byerly . She will have them for any of us at our next meeting in February. At that time we will also discuss publicity and refreshments.
Three of us -- Erna Munsell, Marilyn Allen and I-- will travel to Orlando on the 31st for Province Day. My favorite drive
….. NOT. We’ll report on activities there at our Feb. meeting; the emphasis is on music therapy, so it should be
interesting.
I want to remind you to keep Honors in mind. The committee is at work and, also, election of officers. We will need a new President, VP Membership and treasurer. Put on your thinking caps. Erna is in charge of Honors and Pat Higginbotham chairs the election.
Please note the following changes in our meetings; SATURDAY, Feb. 11 is our next meeting --formal, at the
home of BARBARA STATON. The April 14 meeting will be held at the home of BARBARA JENSEN. I.e., the locations are
reversed.I wish you happy days, good health, and joyful music.
Love & roses,
Alice

Hello sisters,
I spent three days at Florida Music Educators Association Conference in Tampa from the 12-14. I attended many
workshops and I spent a few hours at the SAI booth. The Tampa SAI Alumnae sisters were heading that up and they took in many names and numbers so that they can send them out to the alumnae chapters closest to them.
I had some fun with my fellow teachers from Sarasota and look forward to sharing some of the info with you at the next meeting. Some of you may have seen my pictures on facebook with Sherill Milnes, John Jacobson, and the new British sensation from the Quaver program.
Dr. Liana Valente and I had a long conversation also regarding the Haiti fundraising project. I hope we can invite her to come to another meeting and present her plans for our involvement. Part of her plan involves the Sarasota/Manatee
Alumnae to house the instruments that can be donated until they are ready to ship. Obviously, the details for this need to be worked out.
Don't forget
to sell your tickets! I look forward to seeing everyone at the next
meeting.
SAI
cheers,
Francesca
