March 2014 Letter from the president:
Dear Sisters,
Thanks to everyone who helped make our annual Pat Stenberg Memorial Concert a success! I really enjoyed working with Carole Cornman-Fetterman on the Vaughan Williams Blake Songs. It is an honor and a joy to perform with someone so talented. Halide Smith's award-winning piece "Dedication" performed by our "phantom" organist (thanks to Ann Stephenson Moe for pre-recording it) was just amazing. We can certainly hear why it won a composition award! Woodworks provided a great contrast to the serious and slightly strange Blake songs with their light-hearted humor. They were so entertaining! I especially enjoyed the audience participation part where Olivia and Mary Beth's girls got to join in. It was very interesting as well to learn about the marimba. Thanks also to Susan Bylerly, her husband, her hospitality committee, and everyone who brought food for all of the tasty treats we enjoyed at the reception. Thanks to Carole Luzio for helping to plan the program and serving as our M.C. Thanks to the ushers, the ticket takers, everyone who sold tickets, and all of our audience members. Our chapter can really accomplish great things when we all work together!
With gratitude,
Stephanie Daige, Sarasota-Manatee Alumnae Chapter President
