Alice Moerk presented the following FRED program at the January 10 meeting.
"My SAI chapter -- Alpha Tau at Carthage College - initiated coloratura Virginia MacWatters as an honorary member in 1959 when I was a senior & president of the chapter. Virginia was a family friend -- our families went way back & she became my mentor as well as heroine. I brought my scrapbook of materials about her & her residency at the college including my cherished picture of Virginia and a very young me. I also brought the only recorded version of her voice singing the first recording of the original coloratura version of Strauss' opera, Ariadne auf Naxos."
